To send an announcement to the ERM listserv, please prepare a 2-3 paragraph description including any relevant URLs and contact info as well as a subject line. Do not include any attachments. Be sure that the announcement includes the person to contact with questions. Email all of this information to matushm@vt.edu with [ERM Announcement] in the subject line to facilitate email sorting. Announcements will be sent out on the 1st and 15th of each month. Each set of announcements will be included in the announcements email twice. Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University seeks a dynamic, energetic and progressive leader to serve as Chancellor of its Prescott, Arizona campus. The Chancellor will report directly to President P. Barry Butler and will be responsible for building and motivating an administrative team charged with advancing the strategic goals of the university in the five-year plan introduced in 2018.

The Center for Teaching Excellence (CTE; https://cte.virginia.edu/) at the University of Virginia invites applications for an Assistant Director to be embedded in the School of Engineering and Applied Science (SEAS; https://engineering.virginia.edu/). The Assistant Director for Engineering Education Initiatives will join an internationally renowned and dynamic educational development center committed to promoting the academic professional excellence of UVA faculty, postdoctoral fellows, and graduate student instructors. The incumbent will simultaneously be embedded in a world-class school of engineering, with cutting-edge research, and a deep commitment to instructional excellence.

The Assistant Director of Engineering Education Initiatives is an Academic General Faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor (tenure-ineligible). This is a full-time 12 month appointment, with reappointment contingent upon the availability of funds. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. 5. POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT: Lecturer (temporary faculty) for the Environmental Resources Engineering Department at Humboldt State University

The Environmental Resources Engineering (ERE) Department at Humboldt State University (HSU) is seeking candidates to fill a non-tenure track lecturer (temporary faculty) position to teach introduction to environmental engineering, probability and statistics and life cycle assessment. The teaching assignment could be flexible to best fit the final candidate’s academic strengths. This is an academic year position that could be extended up to three years. In addition, our department anticipates a tenure track position in the near future, and an excellent temporary faculty member would be very competitive for our tenure track position. Humboldt State University is the most northern campus of the California State University System and is primarily a teaching institution. The ERE department values high quality and innovative instruction. Our diverse student population include 40% first in family to attend university, half are Pell grant eligible, a third are minoritized students and a third are women. Six of our nine tenure track faculty member members are women. We welcome a colleague who is committed to make a difference in these engineering students’ lives.

Are you an early-career faculty member, mid-career tenured faculty member, or research staff person who is primarily evaluated on their engineering education research? The PEER Collaborative is a growing community of people in a similar situation who engage in near-peer mentoring about engineering education research topics.

The 2019 PEER Collaborative Unconference is scheduled in parallel with the ASEE Annual Conference & Exposition in Tampa, FL on Thursday, June 20. This free event, uses informal “sessions” to address topics agreed on by participants. Examples of past “sessions” include mentoring graduate students, applying for external funding, building collaborations, and other topics. Specific locations and times are still TBD. We would like to invite you to take part in a survey with aim to understand the factors that influence self-efficacy in conducting engineering education research. The survey has been approved by the Arizona State University IRB and should take 5-10 minutes to complete. Participation of both faculty and graduate students involved in engineering education research is welcome. Co-sponsored by IEEE, hosted by University of South Florida June 12-14, 2019 , in Tampa, FL (before the ASEE conference in Tampa)

The interactive workshop is designed for experienced practitioners and those new to the field (faculty, staff, professionals and students). The EPICS model is used as a framework for the workshop with sessions and breakouts addressing issues related to how to integrate community-engagement in engineering, technology and computing. Each participant will leave with a plan to implement at their own institution.
